3 ways you can get more customer reviews right now

It’s been a while since we discussed customer testimonials in this space, but they are still a major key to your success! In today’s digital-first world, reviews remain one of the most powerful tools a real estate agent can rely on to build trust, increase visibility and get more referrals. The bottom line? Word-of-mouth matters more than ever.

You know your customers love you – and many would gladly give you a review. In fact, recent data shows that nearly 90% of buyers and sellers would recommend their agent to others. So, why don’t you have more of them? Here are some tips curated from a recent industry whitepaper specifically on Google reviews and real estate, but we think the advice can fit any platform.

Make it easy. One of the biggest reasons people don’t leave reviews is because the process seems time-consuming or confusing. Remove these obstacles by sending a direct link to your Google Review page, Facebook profile or any other site where you’re trying to strengthen your review game. You can even add a link to your email signature or utilize a QR code. Think of it as one more way to guide your clients where they need to go.

Personalize your request or ask in person. Think about how many times you’re asked to review something. Pretty much every time you buy something online these days – and none of us review everything we buy, even if we’re 100% happy with a product or a service. You need to make sure your ask for feedback feels genuine and sincere. One way to do this? Make the request in person during a happy time, such as the final walk-through or on closing day in our office.

Explain why you want reviews. As we said above, your happiest customers are often willing to leave you some kind words, but they may not even know you’re hoping for them. Explain to them that you could use their testimonial on your website or social media and mention that this push is part of your renewed marketing efforts for the season, so you can help more clients and families like them.

We’ll leave you with this final thought. It’s time to stop looking at customer reviews as a chore, both for the writer and the receiver. After all, a strong review game isn’t about begging. Think about it as the payoff for creating a memorable and positive customer experience for your clients.

Is one of our local branches always the last stop on your award-winning client journey? First, thank you for trusting us with all your title and closing work! Second, that team would certainly love a review of its own whenever you have a chance.
