3 ways our Escrow Officers lead you home

“While teamwork makes the (homeownership) dream work,” we’re focusing on one specific part of our professional team during National Homeownership Month: our hardworking escrow officers.

While our entire team is proud to collectively be your escrow agent, our escrow officers are the ones who keep everything running smoothly for our customers and partners. Consider them both the point guard for and the face of your transaction’s last steps.

Sure, we have escrow assistants and entire title and escrow departments to support our escrow officers, but these hands-on professionals are the foundation of work across our footprint.

When it comes down to it, your escrow officer has one job – making sure your deal gets to the finish line. Here are three ways they do that.

Ensuring that you’re clear to close. Whether they’ve done the title search themselves or asked a colleague for help, your escrow officer is the one who confirms a property has a clear title and can be bought and sold.

Guiding you throughout your transaction. There are plenty of moving parts even after an offer is accepted, and your escrow officer makes sure everything is the way it needs to be before a transaction can go through. We communicate with the lenders, agents and others involved to keep everyone on the same page.

Preparing documents and other information you need. We’ve said this before, but there’s a lot of paperwork involved in any real estate transaction. Your escrow officer is in charge of ensuring everything is there – and in order – so your closing can proceed. Most importantly, our escrow officers take pride in making sure you understand what you’re signing and answering all your questions. Finally, we also file all the right documents with the correct government entities after your closing day is done.

Do you have a favorite escrow officer from one of our teams? Give a shout-out on their local branch’s Facebook page. Thank you for always trusting our escrow officers to get you home!
