Jumpstart your social media efforts with these 4 tips
As most of us are aware, social media is one of the most effective tools for building a brand in the real estate world. But how do you ensure you’re using it in the best ways? It may seem like the platforms – and the best ways to use them – keep changing, but two things remain constant. It’s essential to approach social media as a two-way street, and your content should continually evolve with the times.
In fact, we have written similar messages in the past, but, like social media itself, a lot has changed in the last couple of years. Without further ado, here’s an updated list on how we can all harness the power of social media to the best of our ability.
Get personal on the platform. Buyers and sellers want to work with people, not logos. What we mean is that strong personal branding is more important than ever. Showing your face, sharing your voice and being consistent in how you present yourself online are key to building trust. There’s a time and place for stock images, but viewers and your customers will always feel a deeper connection with a post featuring a friendly or familiar face.
Keep doing videos. Short videos, especially Reels and TikToks, continue to dominate. They don’t have to be complicated. A quick 30-second tip, an introduction to a team member or a “day in the life” post gives your audience a peek behind the scenes, combining both the first and second points in this blog. Need ideas? Going hyperlocal is always the right move. Think market updates by ZIP code, local business spotlights or events happening near your clients.
Staying consistent is still paramount. Here’s one thing that hasn’t changed over the last few years: Getting excited about posting more on social media is the easy part. Staying consistent and posting regularly over weeks and months is the hard part. After all, consistency builds trust. Use a basic content calendar to plan a few weekly posts in advance. You can even use a scheduling platform like HootSuite or Buffer to make things easier.
You can ask AI for help. Many people are using ChatGPT for help with social media planning, execution and editing. While AI shouldn’t replace your voice, it can make it easier to stay consistent and creative, especially when your marketing resources are limited. Think of these tools as your assistant, editor and underling all in one.
